Creative Process

How do I know I’ll get what I want?

The best way to ensure you get what you want is to be as clear as possible with us in the early stages of your project. Some clients have very specific ideas about what they would like. Other clients take a more “you decide” approach to their projects. Either way, we greatly appreciate any and all input when we begin a project. What you don’t want can be just as useful as what you do want.

We have completed over 225 projects, and we’ve had only two projects where we mutually agreed with the client that Kona Impact was not a good fit for them after we started.

We also ask that you fill out a Project Planning Questionnaire, which will help you focus on what you want and give us valuable information about your goals and needs..

How does the process work at Kona Impact?

    1. We work with the client to define the scope and contents of the project.
    2. The client provides the content for the project—text, photos and video.
    3. We design a specified number of concepts for print projects. For web projects we design the home page.
    4. The client chooses one concept for print projects and is able to make two rounds of revisions on that concept. For web projects, we work with the client to get the home page just right..
    5. Kona Impact completes the design of the print or web project.
    6. The client checks the project for errors and, if necessary, minor revisions to the design.
    7. Print projects are supplied to the client on a CD-ROM and websites are uploaded (and tested) on the client’s server of choice.

Do you allow unlimited revisions?

Not for project-based pricing. This is not practical for any business with set pricing for a project. If you feel that you will need unlimited revisions, let us know, so we can use hourly pricing for your project.

We encourage all clients to think carefully about their project at the beginning stages and fill out the Project Planning Questionnaire with as much detail as possible. This will help you focus on what you want and help you communicate it to the Kona Impact design team.  With proper planning and communication in the early stages, we can usually come very close to what you have in mind within the revision limits.

What do I receive?

You are purchasing the final product—a print ready file for print projects or the website. For print products, you are entitled to a pdf or other suitable for print file of your project on disc or in an email. If you have special needs, like color separations or your product in a special format, we are happy to provide them for you.

For websites you are purchasing the complete website uploaded to the server of your choice.

You are not purchasing a template, editable files, rejected concepts or the components of any design. In other words, you are purchasing the product and not what went into making the product. The only exception to this is logo projects, where we provide the client with the logo in seven different formats, including editable formats.

If you would like an editable template, we can offer it at a separate cost.
